The term homophobe is being drilled into us every day. No one can raise a question or debate an issue without being labeled hateful, stupid, bigoted, ignorant or just fearful.
Ok, fine. You set the rules. Now we need a few more words to define:
Christaphobe – people who are hateful and bigoted to Jesus and all of Christianity.
Cathophobe – people who are hateful and bigoted to Catholicism.
Case in point – I follow a blog about gay bi-polar men (don’t ask) it is actually pretty interesting. There are rules to the site – no homophobe comments will be tolerated and will not be published, etc etc.
So on one of the first reads I found the author bashing the Catholic Church. I commented, “why can you bash the Catholic Church but we can’t bash gays?” I didn’t expect it to be published but it was. He said “thanks for adding to the conversation.” Well, today he did it again. Bashing the Catholic Church and how they declare saints. hmmmm Is this a pattern? Is this author a Cathophobe or Christaphobe? Is he hateful, bigoted, intolerant, judgmental or just ignorant?
Let’s keep the playing field fair people – if bashing/questioning/searching one topic is taboo stay off the other topics as well.
